Cavaliers’ slow start dooms them in 117-115 loss against Atlanta; three takeaways

CLEVELAND– After a thrilling victory over the Washington Wizards on Friday, the Cavaliers were back to old habits on Sunday against the Atlanta Hawks.

Against an injury-riddled team, who has one of the worst records in the NBA, the Cavs struggled to maintain energy and effort and came away with a 117-115 loss.

While they started to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter, and even had a chance to win up until the very last possession, the hole they dug for themselves proved too deep to crawl out of.

Channing Frye summed it up best after the loss.

“To be honest, okay we have to play harder,” he said. “We just overall gotta play better. We suck right now.”

Here are our three takeaways from the game.
