Browns have signed five players as rookie mini-camp concludes

BEREA, OHIO– Rookie mini-camp came to a close on Sunday for the Cleveland Browns and the franchise has already finalized contracts with several of the program’s participants.

First, the Browns announced the signing of three of their 2018 draft picks: offensive lineman Austin Corbett, wide receiver Damion Ratley and defensive back Simeon Thomas. That trio is the first of their nine draftees to sign thus far. Details of the contracts have not been revealed to this point.

Cleveland used the first pick in the second round to select Corbitt out of Nevada. With Joe Thomas retiring earlier this offseason, Corbett could become his potential predecessor at left tackle. Corbitt is extremely versatile, having played both tackle spots during his college tenure.

Ratley and Thomas were both sixth-round selections for Cleveland. In his senior season at Texas A&M, Ratley caught 20 passes for 447 yards and two touchdowns. Thomas logged a career-high 42 tackles and broke up 12 passes this past fall at Louisiana Lafayette. Both should serve as nice depth additions for the Browns.

Additionally, undrafted free agents, tight end Julian Allen out of Southern Mississippi and defensive lineman Lenny Jones out of Nevada have signed with the Browns. Both participated in Cleveland’s rookie mini-camp as a tryout basis.
