Browns Designate DB Terrance Mitchell to Return from IR

The Browns today announced they are bringing back defensive back Terrance Mitchell, as he’s been designated to return from injured reserve for the team.

“He will be ready to go and the word is he will be able to play in the Panthers game if everything progresses right – maybe the week after that, not for sure – but we will take the protocol with him,” Browns coach Gregg Williams said of Mitchell.

“It was good to see him out there, and the guys did a good job welcoming him back. He had a good day.”

Mitchell was a starter for the first four games of 2018, he went down in week four in Oakland with a fractured wrist.

Per league rules, he must miss two more games, making him eligible to return for the Browns’ Week 14 game against the Panthers. Mitchell is the first Browns player to be designated to return from injured reserve this season. Each team is allowed a maximum of two.

Mitchell recorded 19 tackles, one interception, three passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery before going down with the injury.

He was initially replaced in the starting lineup by E.J. Gaines, who has since been lost for the season after multiple concussions.
