Browns Beat Up at Home by the Bolts as Chargers Slam Cleveland 38-14; Five Takeaways

4. More Injuries

The Browns were hit (yet again) Sunday with a threesome of injuries that has to be alarming for a young team whose depth is already being tested at a number of levels.

Wide Out Rod Streater left the game with a neck stinger and didn’t return, and then two linebackers went down, Joe Schobert and James Burgess Jr.

Not to mention the issues that Baker Mayfield had running around after suffering some sort of ankle injury in the first half.

“We will see. We will see how bad it is tomorrow,” Jackson said of the injuries.

“Obviously, (WR Rod) Streater has a neck. You mentioned Burgess. You mentioned Schobert. (OL) JC (Tretter) has an ankle. We will find out a little more about that tomorrow. Ratley obviously his hip/back area so we will find out more about that tomorrow. He was able to finish the game, which was good.”

As far as Mayfield went, he wasn’t in the mood to say the ankle was the reason the team didn’t play well.

“I am good. I was able to finish out the rest of the game,” the quarterback said.
