4. Browns 20, Chargers 16, Oct. 7, 2001 in Cleveland

The Browns got the game-winner on Tim Couch’s 19-yard touchdown pass to Kevin Johnson with 1:15 remaining in the fourth quarter.

Johnson ran a fade route and made the catch of Couch’s deftly-thrown toss in the end zone. Cleveland had pulled to within 16-13 with 4:58 to go on Phil Dawson’s 27-yard field goal.

Couch completed 14 of 27 passes for 203 yards, the one touchdown and no interceptions. He also ran twice for 24 yards. Tight end Rickey Dudley caught three Couch passes for 63 yards. Running back James Jackson got just 68 yards on 26 carries, but his 12-yard touchdown run gave the Browns a 10-3 halftime lead.

The Browns became 3-1 with the win. They were later 6-4, but faded to a 7-9 final record. The Chargers were 3-0 going into the game, but the loss started a slide that had them finish 5-11.
