The Girls of Avon Lake Golf finished the 2017 regular season the same way they began it, unbeaten with a huge win Wednesday night. The below story and stat lines were submitted to NEOSI by the Avon Lake VNN network and Dan Wilson.
| The Shoregals wrapped up its undefeated season with a win against a strong Westlake team. Captain Paighton Masterson shot a solid 36, followed by Emma Davies, 40.
Senior Taylor Hubert played her last match for the Shoregals and finished with a 44. Freshman Maggie Masterson also had her best score in a match with a 44.
Maggie Owen shot a 45 and Marissa Hall, 50. The Shoregals will play in the SWCs Wednesday, Sept. 27 and in Sectional play Tuesday, Oct. 3. |

The ladies of the Avon Lake tee’s weren’t the only ones to finish a strong season, as the boys also did. The Shoremen golf team finished off their sweep of the SWC season today, winning the championship tournament after also winning the preview and all of their regular season matches.
Brandon Bodis and Jake Schrift both shot 75, Tyler Madden shot an 80, and Casey Allemeier topped it off with an 83. Brandon Bodis, Michael Petrus, Jake Schrift, and Tyler Madden were all named 1st Team All-SWC, and Bodis was also the MVP of the conference.
