24 Hours Away: The Latest on the Indians Rumors and the MLB Trade Deadline

1. Adam Jones Baltimore Orioles

The O’s outfielder has been linked to the Indians for sometime, but it appears now with one day left before the deadline that despite Baltimore being simply awful, the 32-year-old is not going anywhere.

Jon Heyman of MLB Network reported the news Sunday, noting “there was a chance” Jones would get moved, and will not waive his no=-trade clause and instead will stay in Maryland because of family, friends, his charity and the fans.

Jones was a player the Indians had interest in as he not only was someone who knew the American League, but also could play centerfield, a position that needs filled more than ever for the Tribe.

The vet, who is a free agent at the end of the year, is hitting .285 with 11 home runs and 44 RBI this season.

Unless something crazy happens, it doesn’t look like Jones is an option at this point.
