17 and Counting: Indians Keep Rolling Topping O’s 4-2; Three Takeaways From the Win

2. Josh Tomlin’s Outing

Indians starter Josh Tomlin attacked the plate all day long. Though it was a short outing, his final line was five innings pitched, giving up two runs on four hits, striking out three with 78 total pitches.

This was his second straight outing he pitched only five innings plus. Tomlin was just activated from the disabled list on September 3rd against the Detroit Tigers.

With the offense keeping the lead, it was enough to give Tomlin the win. He’s now back at the .500 mark with a 9-9 record.

The right-hander faced one batter in the sixth {Tim Beckham} who homered to right to cut the Indians lead 3-2. That was it for Tomlin.
