North Ridgeville Brother Sister Combo Have Epic Weekend On The Hardwood!

Looking for a feel good story about High School Basketball, or family togetherness for that matter?  Look no further then the brother sister combo of North Ridgeville Senior Mj Smith and his younger sister, Sophomore Leia.

The older brother scored a career high 38 points vs Westlake on Friday night. Sister Leia kept the combo rolling the next day as she scored 32 on Saturday against Midview, also a career high. Her biggest supporter was her brother rooting her on to beat his mark.

Need a comparision to this incredible brother sister combo?  Look no further then Reggie Miller and Cheryl Miller of the NBA and WNBA.  Cheryl is widely regarded as one of the greatest female basketball players in the history of the sport.  While Reggie appeared in one NBA Finals, will go down as the greatest Indiana Pacer of all time and appeared in 5 All Star Games.

The ironic part is that their grandfather Ed “Buzzy” Haller  is a Hall of Fame Wrestling coach with 18 years of service on the matts of North Ridgeville, 10 at Lakewood and 2 at John Marshall.

In a era of school shootings, and stories that make us all want to hug our children a little tighter with each passing moment, it was nice to see this story and have the platform to share it.
