Will the Cavs be able to get off to a fast start against the Brooklyn Nets? Previewing the Wednesday night showdown

3. Battle of the bigs

After the win last night, Lue said he was sticking with the starting lineup of LeBron James, J.R. Smith, Jae Crowder, Kevin Love and Tristan Thompson.

Part of the reason is the fact that Brooklyn will be starting Timofey Mozgov (hey, remember him?) at center, and will need Thompson to bang him around down low. The same will be true on Saturday when the team faces the New Orleans Pelicans and Thompson will need to contend with DeMarcus Counsins.

There’s a reason Thompson retained his starting spot when Lue took over as head coach two years ago, and Mozgov was effectively out of the rotation: TT is just more agile and consistent down low. Given the history, Thompson should easily win this battle and should be able to beat Mozgov out for any key boards.
