What is the Goal? Cleveland Browns Players and Coaches Weigh in on Winning the Super Bowl

So it’s the start of training camp for the Cleveland Browns.

What is the goal for the Cleveland Browns?

Super Bowl?

Browns Head Coach Kevin Stefanksi was asked during the press conference on Monday at the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia if he talks to the team about winning the Super Bowl.

In Coach Stefanski’s response he stated that they do talk about winning the Super Bowl.

“But it’s something that I promise you, all 32 clubs sit in a meeting as training camp starts and they talk about winning the Super Bowl,” Stefanski said.

But wait, there’s more.

He also provided an additional response.

Stefanski added, “That’s what you do. It’s the prize of our profession, but we roll it back and really talk about what can we do to get there, and that’s where we really focus on the work at hand.”

After the fourth day of training camp on Tuesday, Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett also discussed the goals for the season.

“I want us to win, we all want to win,” Garrett said. “And that’s the only goal for us at this point.”

But wait, there’s more.

Added Garrett, “Once you break it down and make it simple, it’s easier for yourself to get in the zone, not to get distracted or lose focus of what’s out there, what’s to be. Everybody wants to win the Super Bowl, but you win it by taking that first step, not worrying about that first game. Once you perfect those steps, that rep, that technique, then you start to break it down. Once you finally get to those moments and they come so smoothly and you’re a technician at what you do, and that’s how really great teams are made.”

So Cleveland Browns fans does it really matter if the Cleveland Browns players and coaches have the goal of winning the Super Bowl this season?

Probably not, in my opinion.

What is your opinion?

Should the Cleveland Browns focus only on winning the Super Bowl?

We here at NEOSI would love to hear your opinion.

I’ll end with the following quote from one of the most famous coaches of all-time, former UCLA Head Men’s basketball coach John Wooden who won ten NCAA Basketball Championships in twelve years.

In his 2009 book, “Coach Wooden’s Leadership Game Plan For Success” co-authored with Steve Jamison, Coach Wooden said this about winning, “it is simply a by-product of leadership that knows how to get the most out of a team that is very talented. Thus, for me the highest standard is success – the knowledge that you have made the effort to teach your team how to work together at their highest level.”
