Westlake Boys Bowling finishes 2nd at Wildcat Classic, Kevin Mayle wins medalist honors.

Westlake Boys Varsity finished 2nd place in today’s Wildcat Classic, hosted by St. Ignatius at Rollhouse Parma. The Demons finished the regulation portion with 3606 pins to earn the 3rd seed in the 8 team baker game finals bracket.

After besting Fairport Harbor in two games in the first round, they went on to defeat 2018 OHSAA State finalist Padua 2-1 in the second round to earn a spot in the finals against Austintown Fitch.

Despite bowling well in the best of five finals including a school record 244 baker game, the Demons fell to the Falcons three games to one.

Westlake was led by junior Kevin Mayle who shot a school record 713 series, including individual games of 248, 198 and 267, also earning tournament medalist honors for the high series of the competition.

Also contributing were senior Matt Eppele (563), sophomore Andrew Bodi (514), junior Vinny Corrado (501) and junior Nick Mayle and senior Mitch Cusick (combined 500 series).
