Monsters Find A Late Spark, Snatch 4-2 Win Away From Chicago

CLEVELAND, Ohio- The second night of a back to back took place on Saturday night, as the Cleveland Monsters tried to make it two in a row against the Chicago Wolves.

The game didn’t start off on the right note, as the Wolves scored twice in the first period. Brad Hunt scored at the 13:54 mark and Wade Megan scored at the 19:24 mark in what was an ugly period for Cleveland.

In the second, Cleveland was able to tie things up, as they looked fresh on the ice. Nick Moutrey scored his second goal of the year at the 6:04 mark on a penalty kill, cutting the deficit to one goal. Then at the 15:33 mark, Sonny Milano went around the cage and fired a wrap-around shot to tie things up. It was all even headed to the third period.

In the third period the Monsters finished the comeback, as Markus Hannikainen scored at the 8:22 mark. Hannikainen has had a great start to the year and was able to keep that going while having a weird week that saw him called up to Columbus on Wednesday and immediately sent back down. The Monsters scored an empty-netter late and that’s all she wrote for the game.

The Monsters won a hard-fought game 4-2, as they improved to 5-7-0-1 on the season.
