Home, Sweet Home: Monsters End Losing Streak, Defeat Chicago 2-1

CLEVELAND, Ohio- It was a physical night for most of the sixty minutes played on Friday Night at The Q, as the Cleveland Monsters and the Chicago Wolves duked it out on the ice. The Monsters looked to get a “W” in the win column, as they had fallen in their last six games.

For most of the game, it had been a goaltending clinic put on by the Monsters’ Anton Forsberg and the Wolves’ Pheonix Copley. They hadn’t allowed a single goal throughout two periods, as both offenses looked sloppy throughout the game’s first two frames.

During the third period, things got physical in a hurry. At one point Ryan Craig tangoed with a Wolves player. It seemed to spark the energy of the team. Unfortunately, it was the Wolves that seemed to catch the spark. They scored at the 10:49 mark and things looked bad for the Monsters. Luckily, they caught lightning in a bottle as Alex Broadhurst and Jaime Sifers both put the puck in the net in the final five minutes of the game to take a very much needed win.

The Monsters are now 4-7-0-1 on the year. They take on Chicago tomorrow at 7pm at The Q.
