Marvin Harrison Jr. is Big Ten’s Co-Offensive Player of the Week

COLUMBUS, Ohio – For the second time in the last three weeks, Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. has earned Big Ten honors. He was announced on Monday as the conference’s co-Offensive Player of the Week.

In a 20-12 win over No. 7 Penn State on Sunday, Harrison Jr. caught a career-high 11 passes for 162 yards and had a game-winning 18-yard TD reception in the fourth quarter that gave the Buckeyes a 20-6 lead. Nine of Harrison Jr.’s 11 receptions resulted in first downs. He also became the first player in program history to have five games of 160 or more yards receiving.

Through seven games, Harrison Jr. has top-10 national rankings in receiving yards per game (seventh – 109.4) and receiving yards (seventh – 766). His string of three consecutive 100-yard receiving games is two shy of the school record, which was set by Cris Carter in 1986, and he enters Saturday’s game at Wisconsin with season totals of 42 receptions, 766 yards and six touchdowns.

The No. 3-ranked Buckeyes (7-0, 4-0 Big Ten) travel to Madison, Wisc., on Saturday night to take on Wisconsin (5-2, 3-1 Big Ten). The game will be televised on NBC.
