Mark Bobinski Wins NEOSI Player of the Week

This recap is brought to you by https://www.neosportsinsiders.com/store/

Congratulations to this week’s NEOSI player of the Week Mark Bobinski of Cleveland St. Ignatius. Bobinski was a key part of the 38 – 31 overtime win last night against St. Edwards at Bedford Bearcat Stadium.

The win allowed the Wildcats to advance to the final four of the State Playoffs next weekend. Bobinski had the winning touchdown in overtime to put the Wildcats ahead to stay. He scored from 8 yards out on a beautiful rush though the heart of the Eagles defense.

The dramatic overtime touchdown was only part of a huge night for Bobinski. He began the games scoring in the first quarter with an 8 yard scamper to give St. Ignatius the 7-0 lead at the 11 minute mark of the game.

Mark Bobinski finished with 23 carries for 102 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also caught 3 balls for 21 yards. The Eagles defense was able to key in on Patrick Ryan, thus stopping him almost every time after he had a huge game against Jackson and Solon on the ground. This made the contribution and night from
Bobinski even more important.

I spoke with coach Chuck Kyle who had this to say about his running back, who actually came in late in the season for the original starter who got injured, James Andrews.

“He has great vision, speed and he plays well in the zone schemes. He see’s things that others may not see. And that has been big for us.”

Congrats again to Bobinski and all of the Wildcats as they advance to play in the final four this holiday weekend.
