Kenston Goes For Two – Sean Patrick Converts Two-Point Conversion to Lead Kenston to 36-35 Victory over Riverside

Kenston Head Coach Jeff Grubich had that decision to make with the game on the line and his team trailing 35-34 with 11 seconds left after a touchdown catch by Sean Patrick from Quarterback Lucas Kaltenbach. 

 

Coach Grubich went for two and Kenston won 36-35.  

Here is the video of Sean Patrick scoring the game winning two point conversion.

 

Kenston took an early 7-0 lead on a touchdown run by Sean Patrick with 5:35 left in the first quarter.

Riverside then scored on a touchdown pass from Mickey Maloney with 1:51 left in the first quarter to tie the game at 7-7.

Riverside then took a 21-7 lead on two touchdowns over the next eight minutes.  

First Mikey Maloney scored on a long touchdown run. Then Maloney threw a long touchdown pass to Brady McNight.

Kenston then scored on a touchdown run by Lucas Kaltenbach with 1:54 left in the first half to make the score 21-14.

 

Riverside made the score 28-14 on a touchdown run late in the first half by Mikey Maloney.

Sean Patrick brought Kenston to within seven points at 28-21 with a 10-yard touchdown run midway through the third quarter.

Riverside followed with a long touchdown run by Jason Mackey  to make the score 35-21.

Patrick scored his third touchdown of the game to make the score 35-28 with 10:38 left in the fourth quarter. 

The Bombers made the score 35-34 on a five-yard touchdown pass from Kaltenbach to Patrick with 11 seconds left in the game to set up the game winning two-point conversion.

Kenston moves to 7-1 on the season and will play Willoughby South in a week nine matchup.

Riverside also moves to 7-1 on the season and will host Mayfield on Friday.
