2. They Think They Can Compete
The Cavaliers clearly believe in Kevin Love but the extension also means they believe in their young talent. LeBron James departure leaves a huge hole to fill in the entire offense.
It’ll be a collective effort to replace James production and the Cavs may think they have it with the young talent coming back after last season’s experience. Rodney Hood, Cedi Osman, Jordan Clarkson and Larry Nance Jr. will be key contributors next season and they must be better if they still want to make the playoffs, even in a watered down eastern conference.
The Cavs are counting on Collin Sexton being as good as advertised and the four players mentioned to come back improved. If that happens with Love regaining form then the Cavs will compete in the east.
