Indians Defeat White Sox 5-1 To Tie A Franchise-Record With Fourteen Straight Wins; Three Takeaways From The Win

Fourteen and counting.

The Cleveland Indians continued to invade GuaranteedRate Field in Chicago, as the Tribe beat up on the Chicago White Sox for the third straight night to win by a final score of 5-0.

The offense has been electric and the starting rotation has been just as dazzling. Carlos Carrasco was as efficient as he could be, dealing mostly unhittable stuff all night.

Let’s look at the three takeaways from tonight’s victory.

1. Cookie Cruises- Falling one out short of a complete game shutout, Carlos Carrasco had his way with the Chicago lineup. Take away the Adam Engel home run in the bottom of the 9th and Carrasco had only allowed two hits. Nonetheless, he only had to pitch to one batter over the minimum, facing 28 hitters in the start. Striking out nine and not allowing a walk, it truly was a sweet way for Carrasco to notch his fourteenth win on the season.
