Indians Center Fielder Bradley Zimmer Breaks Bone In Hand After Sliding Into First Base In Sunday’s Game Against The Orioles

The Cleveland Indians are on a winning streak that hasn’t been seen in Major League Baseball in quite some time. The Tribe have won eighteen straight games and Tuesday’s 3-2 win against the Baltimore Orioles showed how much fun the team is having. The crowd at Progressive Field was loud all night and engaged into the action, showing their support for the Indians.

Unfortunately, there was some bad news to come out of tonight’s game. Center fielder Bradley Zimmer broke a bone in his hand when he came up injured sliding into first base tonight. Terry Francona spoke more on the situation after the game:

“He’s got a broken bone in his hand. He got stepped on his finger. He had a pretty good gash in his finger and I guess when he rolled over it’s up in here., referring to Zimmer’s injury. He’s gonna see the hand specialist tomorrow, so we’ll know more tomorrow after he examines him.”

The Indians have Greg Allen and Tyler Naquin available to patrol center field if Zimmer has to miss time.
