HS Boys Hoops: Avon Eagles Win Road SWC Battle in Amherst 60-37

Led by 12 points by senior point guard Ryan Maloy, the Avon Eagles moved to 5-3 in the SWC, 8-3 overall with a 60-37 win over the Amherst Comets Tuesday night in Amherst.

Avon jumped out to a 15-8 lead after one period, and led the game 20-17 at the half.

The Eagles dominated in the third, as they outscored the Eagles 19-6 to take a commanding 39-23 lead enroute to the 23-point win.

Senior Jake Parker had 10 points in the win for the Eagles, while junior power forward Brandon Doehne contributed with eight points.

Junior forward Josh Croston led the way in the setback for the Comets with nine points.

Amherst with the setback falls to 3-8 overall, 2-6 in the SWC.

The Eagles will be in action on Friday to take on Berea-Midpark at home with a varsity tip at 7:30pm.

Friday night the Comets will be in action on the road at Westlake to take on the Demons at 7:30pm.
