Five Cavs Score In Double Figures In Love’s Absence

Kevin Love (back soreness) did not play in Thursday night’s 118-103 blowout win over the Phoenix Suns, but the rest of the bunch stepped up.

James Jones started for the first time this season, putting up 14 points and knocking down four shots from long-range.

Channing Frye delivered 15 points on 6-of-11 shooting, grabbing a season-high 10 rebounds.

Iman Shumpert finished with 17 points, hitting 5-of-7 three-pointers.

Kyle Korver made his debut in front of the home faithful, scoring nine points.

His first basket of the night was a beauty. It doesn’t even look like it touched the net.

LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, who were both named All-Star starters during the game, provided their usual dominance.

The 13-time All-Star was one rebound shy of a triple-double, scoring 21 points and matching his season-high with 15 assists. It was the 31st time of his career that he was one rebound or one assist away from a triple-double.

The 24-year-old (4-time All-Star) scored 26 points and passed Larry Nance to move into eighth all-time on the Cavaliers’ franchise scoring list.

The win followed up an ugly road loss against the Golden State Warriors and the Cavs improve to 30-11 on the season.

The Cavs are back in action at home on Saturday night against the San Antonio Spurs (32-9) for a nationally televised game, which tips off at 8 pm ET on ABC.
