College Football and NFL Lines: Who to Take

College Football Betting Lines Week 9

Kentucky vs. Missouri
Kentucky +6.5
I like Kentucky straight up. They have played better against SEC opponents for one and the Tigers have struggled recently. They lost by at least 35 points the last two SEC games and then lost at home to Middle Tennessee State last week. Kentucky needs this win if they want a shot at becoming bowl eligible and the numbers point to them getting one on the road.

Michigan vs. Michigan State
Michigan State +24.5
Rivalry games are never easy. Ask Michigan about the last time when all they had to do was get a punt off to win the game. Even Ohio State went down last week on the road in a rivalry game where Penn State was almost a 20 point underdog. Michigan is still the better team by a lot but expect the rivalry to keep it closer than most will expect.

Baylor vs. Texas
Baylor -3.5
Texas has been up and down all season and Baylor will likely lose a game at some point but I don’t see it adding up this weekend. The Baylor offense is too strong for Texas to keep in a lower scoring game which would favor the Longhorns. Baylor will keep themselves in the playoff hunt for one more week.

Miami vs. Notre Dame
Miami -1.5
I’ve seen Notre Dame’s defense this year and it is terrible in every aspect. This is a game to watch if you are a fan of a bad NFL team who needs a QB because two of the top three prospects in this year are playing in this one. The experience of Kaaya going up against the Irish defense will lead to another Notre Dame loss in a season they want to forget.

Nebraska vs. Wisconsin
Nebraska +9.5
The winner of this one might come out of the West for the Big Ten. Nebraska is still undefeated but they haven’t blown away anybody and have not had a major test so far. Wisconsin on the other hand has close losses to Ohio State and Michigan and a win over LSU. I like the tested Badgers to win at home but Nebraska has the talent to not get blown out.

UNLV vs. San Jose State
UNLV -3
San Jose State is just a bad team. They beat a FCS school and Nevada by four while their closest loss has been by 17. UNLV isn’t great but they have played better against tougher opponents than SJSU has faced and should come out with an easy win.

Other Considerations:
Central Michigan -14.5, UCF-Houston Over 59.5, Clemson -4, Marshall-Southern Mississippi Over 65.5, Washington State -13.5

NFL Lines Week 8

Jets vs. Browns
Jets -3
It seems like McCown might get the start again after suffering a collarbone injury earlier this season. The last time he faced the Jets it didn’t go well for him. In the opening game last year he got injured and fumbled on that catapult into the endzone on the Browns opening drive. The Jets defensive line is scary and I feel there is a decent chance he reinjures that collarbone during this game playing behind an even worse offensive line than when he got hurt earlier. Ryan Fitzpatrick is fired up after the organization has doubted him and he can throw a lot against the Browns corners. I like the Jets a lot.

Raiders vs. Bucs
Over 49
The Raiders are undefeated on the road this season and for whatever reason seem to play better. Both teams rank in the bottom 10 of the NFL in points allowed and the Raiders are in the top 10 in points scored. The Bucs have played better the last couple weeks including scoring 34 points on the road last week. Winston and Carr can combine for some big plays in a high scoring affair.

Cardinals vs. Panthers
Cardinals +3
The rematch of the NFC Championship game from last year looks like a battle for a team fighting to keep just their playoff hopes alive. The Panthers defense and injuries to Cam have hurt and the Cardinals haven’t gotten going either. Of the two I like the Cardinals in this one. The corners for Carolina have been so dreadful and the Cardinals have the best receiving group in the NFL. If Julio can go for over 300 on his own the Cardinals can do that among three great receivers.

Vikings vs. Bears
Vikings -4.5
Turnover machine Jay Cutler is the starting QB again in Chicago and going against the Vikings means start their defense if you can. The Vikings have won most of their games this year due to the defense and the Bears have struggled all season earning just one win. Look for a low scoring game that may turn into a shutout. I’ll predict the Vikings defense scores more points than the Bears.

Last Week NCAAF: 3-6
Last Week NFL: 3-2
Overall NCAAF: 63-53
Overall NFL: 64-49
