Cavaliers Snap Preseason Losing Streak; Defeat Dallas Mavericks 103-97

The Cavs hosted the Dallas Mavericks in their final preseason game Monday night at the Q and earned their first victory of the preseason winning 103-97 to finish with a record of 1-6.

It was the first time the Cavs’ faithful got the chance to see Kevin Love at home since May and he did not disappoint, quickly putting up five points in the first six minutes.

Love went on to finish the game with ten points and four rebounds in 22 minutes of play.

LeBron James rested again for precautionary reasons after receiving a back injection last week. Mo Williams was given the night off to rest as well.

It was one of the most balanced scoring nights for the Cavs as six players reached double figures in points. Love, Timofey Mozgov, James Jones and Richard Jefferson each scored 10, Matthew Dellavedova scored 13, and J.R. Smith led the team in scoring with 19 points.

Newly acquired big man Jack Cooley hauled in 15 rebounds, in just his second preseason game with the Cavaliers, seven of which came on the offensive end. .

The Cavs now have eight days to get ready for the season opener at Chicago Tuesday, October 27th in Chicago.
