Browns WR Corey Coleman Expected To Play Friday; Says He Is A “Little Nervous, But Will Be Fine”

The Cleveland Browns will finally be able to see their first-round pick on the field in his first NFL debut. Even though it’s only preseason, receiver Corey Coleman just needs to go out on the football field and play with his team.

Coleman has been battling a hamstring injury for several weeks and is expected to play against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this Friday night. He discussed everything in a press conference and is quite excited and ready to roll but is a little nervous. He said he won’t let these rookie jitters get to him.

On anticipating his emotions Friday night during his first NFL preseason game:

I think I’ll be a little nervous, but once I step out there, I think I’ll be fine.

He went into detail about Friday’s game and how he is feeling better than ever.

On if he is ready to play Friday:

Yeah, I feel really good. We took it slow easing me back in, but now I’m full speed, full go.

On what he hopes to accomplish in his first preseason game:

Really accomplish a win and get better, compete at a high level and make sure I do all my assignments right.

On having to wait and get healthy before playing in an NFL preseason game:

It’s been tough. I was watching, I was happy for my team. The guys are making great plays out there. I wanted to be out there to help them, and now I’m back and I’m ready to roll.

On if he has any hesitations about his hamstring:

No, not at all. I’m fine.

This is extremely great news for Browns fans as they hope that Coleman’s preseason appearance not only helps him get familiar with an NFL style system, but can also help his quarterback Robert Griffin III gain some more offensive weapons and really make him look like a true star.
