Browns Ink Former Ball State Running Back Jahwan Edwards

The Browns today signed RB Jahwan Edwards, a former running back from Ball State.

Edwards is a 5-9, 220-pound first-year running back out of Ball State. Originally signed by San Diego in 2015 as an undrafted free agent, he spent time on the practice squads for Atlanta, Jacksonville and Miami last season. He also spent the 2016 offseason with Dolphins before being waived on May 2nd.

Edwards finished his career at Ball State as the school’s all-time leader in career rushing yards (4,558) and TDs (51). A native of Matthews N.C., he attended Butler High School.

Edwards rushed for nearly 3,000 yards and tallied 62 touchdowns in his career at Butler High School in Matthews, North Carolina. He also helped the Bulldogs to back-to-back state championships his junior and senior year.

It was also enough to propel him to Ball State, the only Division I program to offer him a scholarship.
