The Vermilion Sailors came out swinging after a 10-day layoff, as they traveled to Port Clinton and took down the Redskins with a solid 80-39 win.
The win for the Sailors puts them at 11-2 overall and they remain perfect in the SBC.
Mason Montgomery led the way for the Sailors in the win with 22 points and six rebounds. Jonah Pfeil finished the night with 13 points, and dished out a game high 7 assists.
Zach Kovach chipped in 9 on 4-6 shooting. Seth Hurd dished out 5 assists, and Mark Morris hit three triples in the victory.
The Redskins struck first but the Sailors answered with the next six points to take a 6-2 lead. Neither team could find the edge throughout the remained of the quarter, but the Sailors found the basket late and led 14-9 after one.
The Sailors found their sweet spot in the second quarter as they went for 20 points, and the Redskins went cold as they only scored 2 points in the quarter, and the Sailors led 34-11 at the half.
The Sailors picked up where they left off in the second half, as they scorched the nets for 25 points, highlighted by a one hand slam by Montgomery.
Defensively they kept the pressure up on the Redskins as they held them to single digits once again, and led by 39 after three, 59-20.
The Sailors offensive kept it rolling in the fourth as they were good for 21 points and headed home with the solid win.
Vermilion will be in action on Saturday as they will play host to the Edison Chargers.
