Bergeron Makes His Presence Felt In Overtime, Monsters Win 2-1 Over Chicago

The Cleveland Monsters traveled to Chicago on Saturday, as they tried to rebound after a disappointing loss to Iowa the night before in a shootout. The Monsters would get the victory in overtime by a score of 2-1.

After a scoreless first period, the Wolves and Monsters exchanged goals in the second frame. Scooter Vaughan scored at the 9:44 mark of the second period and the Monsters scored the equalizer off of the stick of Jaime Sifers at the 12:56 mark. The teams would head into the third period locked up in a 1-1 tie.

The third period would go twenty scoreless minutes, so there was overtime required for the fifth-straight game.

Fifty-five seconds into overtime, Marc-Andre Bergeron scored his first goal as a Cleveland Monster to lift Cleveland to a 2-1 victory on the road.

Cleveland is now 13-11-1-2 on the year and will resume play Tuesday against the Charlotte Checkers.
