Five Storylines For the Upcoming 2016 NFL Draft

Jaylon Smith

3.) Where will Myles Jack and Jaylon Smith end up?

Like character concerns, injuries are another reason to see prospects fall in the draft. The top two names involving injuries are Myles Jack and Jaylon Smith. Myles Jack is the less severe of the two and while originally thought as a top five lock, there is a chance he could slip into the teens due to the long term questions surrounding the cartilage in his knee. Jaylon Smith is another player that could have been a top five pick if he was healthy. After destroying his knee in the bowl game, his stock has been killed. I’m expecting somewhere between a Marcus Lattimore (fourth round) and Ifo Ekpre-Olomu (seventh round) slide for Smith. Both of those players would have been first round picks but their injuries were so bad they fell really far and never really had an impact in the NFL. Somebody may look at Smith with a day three compensation pick at some point.
