Tribe Win Streak Comes to an End; Three Takeaways from 5-1 Loss to Reds

2. Tomlin Gets Off to Rocky Start

It wasn’t a horrendous outing for Tomlin, but he allowed two runs in the first two innings.

He settled down in the middle innings and may have run out of gas in the seventh, surrendering three more (two earned).

Ultimately, at least he was able to go 6.1 innings and save the bullpen again, but with the loss, he falls to 2-6 on the season (a record that does not indicate how well he’s pitched, at times, this season).

Tomlin now owns a 6.70 ERA, which is highly inflated from two atrocious starts early in the year.
