Swaggy C’s Daily Fantasy Sports Tips

For people new to DFS here are a few simple tips to keep in mind when setting you’re lineup. I want to breakdown a few things that are key in NBA DFS. These are not the only important factors in DFS but these are very useful.

1) Target Games with High Vegas Totals

The reason being is the higher projected total the more shots and points are projected to be produced. An example is a game featuring the Nets, Suns, or Warriors tend to always have high totals so if you decide to stack a game or team it’s orefered to be in a game featuring high scoring teams like them.

2) Look for Teams in High Paced Games

The reason for this is that the higher paced the game is the more touches, shots, rebounds will be produced. This tends to lead to high Vegas lines because the higher other paced the game, the higher the score is. Teams like the Nets and Suns play higher paced, whereas the Grizzlies and Mavs play at a slower pace.

3) DvP (Defense vs Position)

This is another tool that can be helpful. These rankings measure how many fantasy points each team gives up to each position on the floor relative to the rest of the league. These stats will help you see popular trends in DFS, such as targeting opposing PGs against the Timberwolves, targeting big men against the Nets, or whatever the case may be. DvP rankings help you spot favorable matchups each night.

4) Understanding What to Expect from a Player

On Fanduel a score of 300 will get you in the green a majority of the nights. A great way to hit the 300 mark is for each player you select to hit 5 times value. The way for a player to hit 5x value is if they score as many points as there salary times 5. This is very simple, for example if Dwayne Wade has a salary of $5,000 one night, he needs one hit 25 FDP that night to hit his value.

5) Monitoring Injuries

There are so many last minute scratches in the NBA that you have to constantly be ready to change your lineups. Whether you play as a hobby or for a living, you need to set aside the last 15-30 minutes before lineups lock and devote that time to DFS because they are the most important 15-30 minutes of the day. I believe that if you can’t set aside that’s time there is a chance you are just donating your money. If you have a great lineup where everyone hits value but one of your players gets ruled out minutes before game time, your potential big night can turn into a loss in the blink of an eye.

I will breakdown NBA slates and post articles on my favorite plays for each night. Follow my Twitter for injury updates and other fantasy analysis I will provide throughout the day. I will also answer any questions you have for me @DfsSwaggyC
