PREVIEW: Cavs host Magic as LeBron inches closer to 30,000 points

3. Keeping that focus

Along with the midseason slump, the other time-honored tradition that has plagued the Cavs in recent years is a tendency to not always take opponents that are viewed as less talented or suffering from a slew of injuries all that serious.

After starting off 8-4, the Magic are now tied for the worst record in the NBA with just 13 wins, placing them in the former category.

The Cavs badly need a win; hopefully that alone will keep up their sense of urgency on Thursday night.
