Monsters Announce Joint Practices with Columbus Blue Jackets Tuesday and Wednesday

CLEVELAND – The Lake Erie Monsters announced today that the team’s new NHL affiliate, the Columbus Blue Jackets are scheduled to practice at OBM Arena operated by IceLand USA in Strongsville on Tuesday, October 6th from approximately 9:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., coinciding with the Monsters’ 2015 Media Day. Columbus will skate again the following morning approximately at 9:00 a.m. with both practices, as well as the Monsters’ daily on-ice sessions at 11:30 a.m., free and open to the public.

As part of Lake Erie’s 2015 Media Day, Monsters players and staff, including General Manager Bill Zito, Head Coach Jared Bednar and Assistant Coaches Nolan Pratt and Toby Petersen, will be available for comment following the team’s 11:30 a.m. practice on October 6th and Blue Jackets players will also be made available to the media at the conclusion of their on-ice session. Tuesday’s Media Day will additionally feature the official unveiling of the Monsters’ Blue Jackets-themed specialty jerseys, which will be worn at each of Lake Erie’s 12 “Blue Jackets Nights” at Friday home games throughout the 2015-16 season.

  • Approximately 9:45 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Blue Jackets Media Availability:

  • Immediately following Blue Jackets Practice

Open Lunch for Media:

  • 11:00 – 1:00 p.m.

Monsters Jersey Unveiling:

  • 11:15 a.m.

Lake Erie Monsters Practice:

  • 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

Monsters Media Availability:

  • Following Monsters Practice
