Corey Kluber Notches 20th Win, Indians Top White Sox 4-0; Three Takeaways

3. A 9th Inning of Insurance

With the game still very much in doubt with the Indians up 1-0 entering the 9th inning, the Tribe came up with some huge AB’s in the top of the 9th, pushing across three runs.

Adam Rosales hit a solo homer to make it 2-0, and then Brandon Barnes singled to right, scoring Greg Allen to give the Indians a three-run cushion.

The final run of the night went to Edwin Encarnación, who knocked a single to left center, scoring Yandy Díaz for the teams’ fourth and final run of the night.

It’s great to see in a tight game a couple young players like Rosales, Barnes and even Diaz come up big.
