Cleveland Browns 2022 Win Total

Cleveland Browns 2022 Win Total

With the Deshaun Watson suspension finalized, sportsbooks have been shifting odds and offering more lines on the Cleveland Browns for the 2022 season.

One of the markets that are now available is the Browns’ 2022 win total. Let’s take a look at a few sportsbooks to see where Cleveland sits heading into the 2022-2023 season.

Cleveland Browns 2022 Win Total

Here’s what the Browns win total and odds look like across DraftKings, FanDuel, and Caesars Sportsbook Ohio.

DraftKings FanDuel Caesars
Over 8.5 (+110)
Under 8.5 (-140)
Over 8.5 (+135)
Under 8.5 (-160)
Over 8.5 (+130)
Under 8.5 (-150)

Caesars recently shifted the Browns win total to 8.5 from 7.5. The sportsbook had received so much action on the over that they adjusted the total.

Interestingly, the few sportsbooks that were offering a win total on the Browns following the initial six game suspension for Watson set the total at 9.5. The additional five games Watson received from the NFL’s appeal resulted in just a one game drop.

The odds at DraftKings have seen a slight shift from last week when the over was listed at +105 and the under at -135.

If you’re an optimist and want to take the over, FanDuel is where you’re placing your bet. Under bettors will want to head to DraftKings for the best price.

Which Games Will Deshaun Watson Miss?

The Browns 2022 schedule seems less forgiving with Watson’s suspension increasing. Cleveland has one of the easiest opening schedules in the league which gave fans hope the Browns could still make a push for the postseason.

Watson will miss the following games:

  • Week 1 at Carolina Panthers
  • Week 2 vs New York Jets
  • Week 3 vs Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Week 4 at Atlanta Falcons
  • Week 5 vs Los Angeles Chargers
  • Week 6 vs New England Patriots
  • Week 7 at Baltimore Ravens
  • Week 8 vs Cincinnati Bengals
  • Week 9 – BYE
  • Week 10 at Miami Dolphins
  • Week 11 at Buffalo Bills
  • Week 12 vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

If Cleveland is to hit the over on their 8.5 win total, they need to jump out to a hot start the first four weeks. Starting with the Chargers in Week 5, the rest of the Browns games will be against teams who made the playoffs last year or are viewed as strong playoff contenders this year.

Only the Chargers, Ravens, and Dolphins missed out on the 2021-2022 playoffs. The Chargers narrowly missed out on the playoffs and added major defensive pieces in Khalil Mack and J.C. Jackson. The Ravens made key offseason additions and have a healthy Lamar Jackson returning. The Dolphins made changes across the coaching staff and added perennial Pro Bowl receiver Tyreek Hill.

Betting Odds for the Browns First Five Games

  • Week 1 at Carolina Panthers (+1.5)
  • Week 2 vs New York Jets (-4.5)
  • Week 3 vs Pittsburgh Steelers (-4)
  • Week 4 at Atlanta Falcons (-4.5)
  • Week 5 vs LA Chargers (+3)

After initially opening as 4.5 point favorites against Carolina, the Browns are now getting 1.5 points on the back of the Watson news and Baker Mayfield being named the Panther’s starter. DraftKings has betting lines available for games against the Steelers, Falcons, and Chargers. The only other game the Browns are viewed as underdogs is the home matchup against the Chargers.

FanDuel has Cleveland as 4.5 point favorites against the Jets while other sportsbooks are staying away due to the uncertainty surrounding quarterback Zach Wilson’s injury.
