Cavs Ground the Hawks 121-114 for 10th Straight Win: Three Takeaways

2. Coming Up When it Mattered

Give the four-win Hawks credit, they made a game of it almost to the very end, but once again the Cavs did what they had to do on both sides of the ball to put the game away.

Up by one at 113-112 with 2:48 left, the Cavs ended the game outscoring the Hawks 8-5 in those near final three minutes to seal the win.

First it was LeBron’s huge three that made it 116-112, and then after a Hawks turnover it was Dwyane Wade hitting a huge 8-foot driving floating jump shot, making it 118-112 with 1:14 left to basically seal the win.

The Cavs every time they have been in a close game have been able to answer the bell late with big stops and with even bigger shots, and against the Hawks they came up big again, with LeBron and Wade hitting the two biggest shots of the night to make sure not to allow the scrappy Hawks to steal another win.

Let’s not forget while Atlanta has only four wins, one of them came against the Cavs, so there was a bit of a measure of revenge in this Cavs victory.
