Boys HS Hoops: Padua Moves to 7-2 with 78-53 Win Over Lincoln West

The Padua Bruins moved to 7-2 on the year as they took care of business at home Saturday night, topping the Lincoln West Wolverines 78-53.

The Bruins jumped out to a 20-11 lead after one quarter and never looked back, as they led the game 39-25 at half and were able to keep it up in the second half to take home the win.

It was a solid bounce back win for Padua, who were defeated on the road by Richmond Heights Friday by a final of 94-62.

Saturday was a different story, as the Bruins got 19 points from senior Mikey Morsillo, as he was hot from the field with 3 three pointers in the win.

Akinlana Popoola helped the Padua cause with 11 in the victory.

Lincoln West continued their tough season on the court, as they dropped to 0-8 with the loss. Center Rashon Pique had 15 points for the Wolverines in the setback.

The Bruins hit seven three’s to pace the team to the 25-point win. Padua will be back on the court on Friday at home in a key game against rival Benedictine.
