NORTH OLMSTED, Ohio – Well the first week of the NFL Season has come and gone, and here are 5 things I took away from it.
– The Patriots are good, no matter who the QB is and no matter the names he is throwing it to. They always seem to find ways to win and players to produce. That is what happens when you have consistency in a coaching staff and front office, you are able to overcome suspensions and adversity.
– The Browns ae bad, and I mean really bad. No matter who the QB is and no matter the names he is throwing it to. They always seem to find ways to lose and players to under produce. That is what happens when you don’t have consistency in a coaching staff and front office, you aren’t able to overcome suspensions and adversity. This may very well be the season we go 0-16. I sure hope not, but it doesn’t look good.
– The two best teams in the NFC lost this week, with Carolina and Arizona both going down. Despite these teams coming up short, I’m still convinced they are extremely good. Both had hard luck losses and last second field goal misses. One play different in both games, and we are talking about them in a much different light today. Despite the losses, I still feel they are the best two not only in the NFC but in all of football. Sorry Seattle, I’m just not seeing it…… yet?
– The days of the Saints being one of the best teams in football with Drew Bree’s at the helm making them a sure thing Super Bowl contender are long gone. Their defense proves time and time again that they can’t hold a lead. It amazes me because in many ways, they remind me of the Indianapolis Colts. All offense, overrated coaching, and very little defense or clock management.
– Expect a big jump out of the Oakland Raiders or Jacksonville Jaguars this season. Both teams looked primed and ready after week one.
