Photo Gallery: Avon Lake Lays Huge Upset Over Number One Ranked Avon 27-26

AVON, OHIO – Playoffs are made for upsets, and Friday night was no exception. The Avon Eagles, the number one ranked team in Ohio in Division 2 Region 6 took on their rivals in Avon Lake in the opener of the high school playoffs, and the battle was a pure classic.

The Shoremen, who were back in the playoffs after two down seasons, were looking to avenge an earlier 31-7 loss to the Eagles in SWC action earlier in the season, and did just that, pulling off an amazing upset 27-26.

Here’s photo’s from the game in Avon, a game that will go down as a thriller that people will be talking about for a long time as Avon Lake will move on, ending the season of their rivals in the SWC.
