The Summer of McRae Continues; Cavs Take Down Lakers 88-80

Jordan McRae’s impressive week at the Las Vegas Summer League has gotten better with each game, as the guard scored 36 points in Thursday night’s win over the Lakers, leading the Cavs to the next round of the tournament, where they will face the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday in the quarterfinal.

The Cavs overcame a 19-point deficit by dominating the second half, in which McRae scored 21 points.

Rookie point guard Kay Felder contributed 20 points on the night. It was Felder’s second-straight game with 20 or more points, as he and McRae have been the two stars in the desert thus far.

McRae has scored 30 or more in back-to-back games and has now scored 129 points in five games.

Although it’s only Summer League, head coach Tyronn Lue has to be impressed and McRae could not be expected to do much more to solidify his spot on the active roster.
