St. Ignatius Advances to Cleveland Cup Championship with 8-1 win over Holy Name

The defending state champion Saint Ignatius Wildcats advanced to the GLHL Cleveland Cup Championship Game with an 8-1 victory over Holy Name on Friday, Feb. 10.

Ignatius scored early and often, as seven different players netted goals in the win.

Connor Koehnke scored two. Cullen Frebes, Connor McGowan, Bain Kurtz, Benji Rechin, Chris Revnew, and Seth Whitney all added goals, as well.

Holy Name’s lone goal came in the second period from Sean Bauchens.

Ignatius advances to face the winner of St. Edward vs. University School on Saturday, Feb. 11 at OBM Arena in Strongsville.
