Report: Browns Special Teams Coach Chris Tabor Leaving to Join the Bears Staff

It’s a moment that many Browns fans have been waiting for, and it looks like that moment is about to happen, as reports say that special teams coach Chris Tabor is out, heading back to Chicago to be on the Bears coaching staff.

The Chicago Tribune reports that Tabor is going to be with the Bears, coaching their special teams for new head coach Matt Nagy, who became the teams’ official head coach on Tuesday.

Tabor was with the Bears from 2008 to 2010 before he eventually ended up with the Browns, coaching a unit that seemed to have breakdown after breakdown on both kickoffs, punts and even field goals.

The Tribune reports that Browns coach Hue Jackson “agreed to let Tabor out of his contract to return to Chicago and bring the system that Toub used with so much success under Smith.”

For many Browns fans, they don’t care how it happened, they are probably just happy that he’s finally out of Cleveland.
