CLEVELAND, OH –

  • Guardians selecting the contract of 1B Rhys Hoskins from AAA Columbus. The Cleveland Guardians today announced the composition of the 2026 Opening Day roster. There weren’t many surprises in the roster though there were a few moves made which include:
  • Placing RHP Andrew Walters (rehab, 2025 right lat surgery) and RHP Hunter Gaddis (right forearm strain) on 15-day Injured List and OF George Valera (left calf strain) on the 10-day Injured List, all retroactive to March 22.

Cleveland did also designate outfielder Johnathan Rodríguez for assignment.

The Guardians roster consists of nine players acquired via the MLB Draft, nine via free agency (3 amateur, 6 Major/Minor), six via trades and two Rule 5 Draftees.
