Parma Tops Normandy 64-57

PARMA, OHIO – On a cold, snowy night in Northeast Ohio, The Parma Redmen amped the Normandy Invaders 64-57. The Redmen did not disappoint the crowd, who were very amped for their home opener. The Redmen improves to 4-0. While the Invaders fall to 1-2.

Parma was led by Senior Kyle Lyon, who had a team leading 26 points. You can tell Kyle is the leader of a very gritty Parma team. Though he struggled at times during the game. Kyle Lyon played very tough defense and also had some tough shots during the game.

The Parma Redmen had some big time help off the bench as well. Off the bench, Senior George Minich had 21 points. The Redmen starter off slow. They were down by as many as 9 points during the first half. Losing 25-24. Then, the offense took over and they got going. Leading at the end of the 3rd quarter 39-34. You can tell Head Coach Mike Durkin teaches his players to finish. Because his squad really finish the game strong and took home the win 64-57.

For Normandy, what look like a big win on the road against their rival turned into a disappointing night. But the Invaders had a valiant effort. Playing a very tough game all the way up to the end. The team was led by Senior Josh Gainer had 13 points. The Invaders had four total players in double digits scoring. But still wasn’t enough to get the win.

Up Next for the Normandy Invaders, they continue to play on the road at Valley Forge. Tip Off is at 7:30 PM on Tuesday.

For the Parma Redmen, the Redmen will head on the road to Elyria Catholic. Tip Off is at 7:30 on Tuesday.
