Masters Pairings for Thursday and Friday

Masters Pairings

The pairings for the Masters have been released. Notably the club will pair major champions with first-time amateurs or pro golfers as a way to connect the present and past.

Background

We will see Rory, last year’s champion, paired with the Amateur Champ, Mason Howell , and this year’s Players Champion, Cameron Young. There are quite a few interesting pairings for Thursday’s first tee time at 7:40 AM. Check out the Bryson, Matt Fitzpatrick and Xander Schaffle one! Three gentlemen that could win the green jacket.

For the afternoon round, you couldn’t beat Brooks Koepka, Jordan Spieth and Justin Rose! So with today being the last practice round and the par three tournament, hopefully patrons are enjoying their pimento sandwiches, peach ice cream sandwiches, and breakfasts while identifying the best places to park and watch Thursday’s round.

Here are the pairings.

1:44 pm: Scottie Scheffler, Robert MacIntyre, Gary Woodland

1:56 pm: Harris English, Marco Penge, Si Woo Kim

If you think Si Woo Kim has a decided disadvantage teeing off last, keep this in mind. Jon Rahm (2023), Scottie Scheffler (2024) and Tiger Woods (1997) have won with the late Thursday tee time. In fact, Tiger’s 12 shot victory began with it.

The Masters will give these later groups early times on Friday, where one could make a charge when the conditions are calm and pristine. But if the weather is bad on Friday morning, all bets are off!

Unfortunately, NO ONE has ever won the Masters when they are assigned the last Thursday tee time. Here’s hoping Kim destroys that statistic!
