Inside the Lines: Who to Take and Not Take This Weekend in College and Pro Football Action

NFL:

OAK vs. DET
OAK Even

We got a pick em game from Ford Field. I like Oakland in this one. We have seen Oakland be up and down all season. Detroit went to Green Bay and got a much needed win last week. When you look at the Raiders losses they have all lost to pretty good teams except for Chicago. Carr is making strides again this year and Latavius Murray can be a great play this week against a bad Lions run defense. I think the offense of Oakland is too much for Detroit to handle because their offense wasn’t even able to jumpstart last week against the Packers who have been hardcore struggling of late.

TB vs. PHI
TB +7

If Bradford were playing I would avoid this game, put in Mark Sanchez and I like the Bucs to cover. Both enter the game with the same record. The Bucs have been surprisingly alright after looking defeated last year. In relief against the Dolphins, Sanchez went 14/23 for 156 and a pick. Those numbers are not going to get it done. The Bucs didn’t have a big week but Winston was able to lead a comeback victory last week while the Eagles gave one up. Should be a close one.

STL vs. BAL
BAL -2.5

I’m going with the Ravens here. Keenum will get his chance for the Rams this week. I don’t expect much to come from him and the Rams can only rely on Gurley so much. On the other side of the ball, the good Rams defense has been hurt the last couple weeks giving up 21 to Minnesota and 37 to Chicago. The Ravens are another offense that would fall in that caliber.

DAL vs. MIA
DAL Even

Going with Dallas in the second of the two even games I’m playing. Romo will make his much needed and overdue return this week. Miami is pretty generous against the run and the pass so both Romo and McFadden should find some success this week. The Cowboys main task is going to be to not give any big plays up to Lamar Miller who has been killing it lately. I think Dallas finds a way to grind out a much needed morale win.

KC vs. SD
Over 44.5

The Chiefs struggle against the pass and the Chargers struggle against the run. Rivers and West have been among the best at their respective positions this season. The Chargers failed to score 20 points last week for the first time in six weeks so their track record is good. The Chiefs have put up at least 23 in the last three weeks. I expect this to be a higher scoring game.

NCAAF Last Week: 5-2
