Cavs Wrapping Up Deal To Acquire Forward Sam Dekker from Clippers

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN is reporting that the Cavaliers are wrapping up a deal with the Los Angeles Clippers that will bring them the services of Sam Dekker.

Dekker had a guaranteed $2.7 million salary from the Clippers that they are more than happy to get rid of, though it is likely the Cavs are getting some cash to cover his contract in the deal.

The former Wisconsin Badger is a 6’8” combo forward, who last season averaged 4.2 points and 2.4 rebounds while playing 12.1 minutes per game over 73 contests in 2017-18.

He played his first two season with the Houston Rockets, and then was dealt to the Clippers as part of the deal that sent Chris Paul to Houston.

One thing that Dekker might be more famous for than his play on the court is his wife – Olivia Harlan – who is a sideline reporter for ESPN.

The two were married July 14th of this year.

The roster move in getting Dekker that the Cavs will make is waiving Okaro White, who if he wouldn’t have been waived today would have had half of his $1.5 million dollar salary guaranteed.
