5 of the Most Frustrating Browns Loses Since 1999

September 29, 2002 – Hats Off

In this shootout with the Kansas City Chiefs Browns linebacker Dwayne Rudd went to celebrate, after what should have been a game ending play. Unfortunately for him and the Browns, removing your helmet and throwing it on the field is considered unsportsmanlike conduct, and the 15 yard penalty allowed the Chiefs to boot a game winning field goal with no time on the clock. Kansas City survived, 40-39.

September 4, 2006 – The Frye Guy

With this division game seemingly under control and the Browns up two in the fourth, Charlie Frye was picked off in the red zone by the Ravens Chris McAlister. Ravens QB Steve McNair had enough time to drive the Ravens into field goal range, where Matt Stover won it for the dirty birds with a 52-yard field goal. Cleveland loses a heartbreaker, 15-14.
