UFC 200: Thiago Santos vs Gegard Mousasi

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – UFC 200 is right around the corner, July 9th from the T Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Nevada. It is set to be the biggest card in UFC History because of a stacked card. We here at NEO Sports thought it would be a fun idea to break each match down one blog at a time. Because the card is so loaded we felt each match needed more than a few sentences. So over a 12 day stretch, you will see a breakdown of all 12 GIGANTIC matches. Enjoy!

Today’s matchup is Thiago Santos vs Gegard Mousasi

Gegard Mousasi is a former DREAM Light Heavyweight Champion, former DREAM Middleweight Champion, former Cage Warriors World Middleweight Champion and the former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight Champion.

By the time he entered the UFC in April 2013, he was an impressive 33-3-2. His UFC stint has not gone as well, going just 5-3. He will look to end this one early, and get back on track.

Thiago Santos is explosive and could end a fight in seconds with explosive fists and feet. He is also on a roll, winning his last 4 straight in the UFC to bring his overall record to 13 -3. He will have his hands full with a veteran champion like Mousasi.

This is a great fight that truly could be a main event on most Free TV cards. I like Santos in this one to give Mousasi all he can handle.

However, I will pick with head and not my heart and play it safe this time, I pick Mousasi to eventually weather the early Santos storm, and win by decision.
