Jason Lloyd of Ohio.com/Akron Beacon Journal reports that former-Cavaliers head coach David Blatt will receive a championship ring.
It might be a bit of an awkward exchange, but Blatt did lead the team for about half of the 2015-16 season and had the team in first place in the Eastern Conference prior to being fired.
It’s impossible to know if the Cavs would have won the 2016 NBA Finals with Blatt at the helm, but all’s well that ends well and the Cavs must be feeling in the giving spirit.
Blatt maintained a classy attitude throughout the fallout of the controversial decision and was a true gentleman, when some in his position could have chosen to air their frustration with the organization to the public.
Whether Anderson Varejao gets a ring or not might be a different story.
